I have been meaning to do some journaling about Abby. She has been cracking me up and definately keeping things interesting lately. I love the things that she is coming up with, and she talks ALL the time so she comes up with ALOT! Her favorite game right now is Hide and Seek. She is getting pretty good, and it has helped her learn to count. Jacob is really good to play with her. The other night they were playing and he went to hide under a blanket, but she came too quick and she just goes up to him with an annoyed look and says "bad spot!". We couldn't stop laughing, especially when she got more annoyed and tells us "you both need to stop laughing". The other day my sister was here and Abby was playing in the bedroom. She kept slamming the door, so I went in to yell at her and I must have had an awful look on my face because she just puts up her hands as if to stop me and says "I believe, I believe with all my heart", lol. I couldn't even yell at her anymore. An example of how Landon and her conversations go is: They were at my mom's house and Landon had just woke up from a nap and they are both sitting on their stools eating something. Abby says "Hey Landon, when did you wake up?" Landon - "huh" Abby - "When did you wake up?"...repeat about fifteen times. Then Landon says "in there" and points to the bedroom and Abby says "o, ok". I love my kiddos! O yeah, I also wanted to tell about seeing Santa. She had told us that she wanted to sit on Santa's lap and tell him what she wanted for Christmas, so we took her to the Cowboy Christmas to see him. As soon as she saw him she got super shy. She hid behind my mom with her lip quivering and wouldn't even let me hold her hand to go and get a candy cane from him. Seneca, JP and Landon didn't have a problem getting the candy cane! When we were walking away she asked my mom "will you go and tell him I want a Barbie"! I guess we won't ever be taking Santa pictures unless I make Jacob pull out the Santa suit like last year!

Halloween
Landon was a cowboy and LOVED riding his horse around EVERYWHERE.
Abby was our witch, and she would tell you she's a bad one.
We didn't do any trick-or-treating, but we went to the park and the kids had a blast playing the games and Landon riding his horse. They also enjoyed the candy-here is a picture of him enjoying his "Kat-Kat".

The night before the kids got to go with Grammy, Poppop, Aunt Ruthie and Benjamin to Aunt Biz's school for their games and candy.

Baby Blessings
Last fast Sunday Jacob was given the opportunity to bless two sweet babies. Jacob's cousin Sammy and Carla have twin baby boys. Their names are Christopher Ray and Jacob Samuel. I am so thankful that Jacob was able and willing to do their blessings. He did a wonderful job!

Pumpkin Carving
We had a good time carving pumpkins this year. Aunt Ruthie, Uncle Ray and Benjamin were here to join in the fun.
Landon was a big fan of being able to hold a knife. All night long he jabbed away saying "cut, cut"
Benjamin didn't really like the idea of cleaning them out, he thought it was disgusting.
Landon and Abby however LOVED it.
He is Landon restuffing the pumpkin after we had already cleaned it.
Abby did pretty well trying to carve hers.
Daddy even came home from hunting to help.
Jacob carved a spider, I did a skull (with a heart for an eye patch;)), and Abby's is the face. Landon's didn't really end up being carved as he mostly mutilated it!

DUM
Thanks to their Grammy my kids are OBSESSED with Gum (also known as DUM to Landon). The first thing he thinks of in the mornings is DUM. "I want DUM, I want DUM" until Grammy gives in and gives him some. He knows that most purses have gum in it and will search through anyones. He even found a book at the library all by himself about a turtle blowing bubbles with bubble gum. It all started when Grammy found a bag of bubble gum and she would blow a bubble and let the kids walk around with it pretending that they blew it. Then Abby actually learned how to blow real bubbles. I couldn't believe it, what 3 year old knows how to blow a bubble. But actually what 3 year old is given that much gum! Thankfully Abby is good to throw hers away when she is done and we haven't had any gum-in-the-hair incidents....yet. Landon however has had it stuck to him and his clothes several times now.

Parade
This year for my birthday Graham County threw a party! They even had a parade...just kidding. It was actually for the fair;) My work had a float and so I decided to take Abby so that she could be in it. PJ, another girl from work, also took her daughter Addy. Abby and Addy modeled some tutus! I am not sure I like being IN the parade because you don't get to see much of it. I was glad to spend the day with Abby though!

My Poor Boy
Why oh why do things like this have to happen to MY boy! Night before last my dad noticed his eye start to swell. He hadn't hit it and it looked like something had stung him, but he never cried. It swelled pretty quickly and by yesterday morning it was completely swollen shut! Poor boy! He never fussed about it and he doesn't act like it hurts, but his perception is a little bit off as he has been running into things more often! Today it is a little bit better. His eye lid moves when his eye does and it is open just a tiny bit. Hopefully tomorrow will be even better!

Lower Eagle Creek
On Labor Day we decided to take a road trip up to lower Eagle. Ever since Jacob got drawn for deer it seems like all we do is go looking for a good place for him to hunt! When we told Abby that we were going by Grandma's work, she just had to stop and see. So we took her to the lookout. She loved that big hole with the shovels and dump trucks in it. Landon wasn't as impressed because from so far away they look itty-bitty!
We took a pretty long trip out some dirt roads, didn't see much until on our way back we saw this guy, a kudamundi or a "tat" as Landon called it. We also saw a little white tail deer, which apparently is not what we are looking for...
When we got back down to the creek we let the kids play for a while. Landon was a little skeptical because he thought the branches from the tree across the way were snakes.
Abby tried to catch minnoes,
and Jacob and Landon skipped rocks.
We didn't miss out on the big horn sheep either, we got to see the whole herd. But I didn't get very good pictures!

My Bug Girl
Abby is my bug girl. She LOVES catching creepy crawlers! You will often find her looking for grasshoppers, worms, cicadas, or just about anything else she can get her hands on. She is very proud of her talent and is often bringing me little bugs to look at, which I don't really like bugs! One thing it is good for is squashing the bugs and spiders I don't like, I just hand her my shoe! I have to add how she says it "mom, I'm going to fwash that fider". Except we have been working on it, now she says "SSSSSSSSSSS Fider", lol. The other day we were at Aunt Ruthie's house and Abby filled a bucket full of snails. She has been itching to go back and get some more!
They also found a beautiful butterfly. It is still alive...and it eventually flew away, but I am not sure how well it was if it let Abby catch it!
Notice Landon's expression, I love it! He would really like to hold one, but he is not really sure. He does like to stomp bugs though.
This is the real reason we went to Aunt Ruthie's. We got to meet Jacob's cousin Sammy and Carla's new twin boys, Jacob and Christopher. Abby was really excited to hold them. They are identical and the only way you can tell them apart right now is that Jacob is bigger and a little redder. They are so adorable.
